About SOFTOLIV SYP

LIQUID PARAFFIN + MILK OF MAGNESIA + SODIUM PICOSULPHATE suspension is a combined laxative used to relieve constipation. Each of these components works differently to help clear the bowel effectively.

Composition and Purpose:

Liquid Paraffin
- A lubricant laxative
- Softens stool and lubricates the intestine, making bowel movement easier.
Milk of Magnesia (Magnesium Hydroxide)
- An osmotic laxative
- Draws water into the intestines, softening the stool and stimulating bowel movements.
Sodium Picosulphate
- A stimulant laxative
- Stimulates the muscles in the bowel wall to contract, pushing stool through.

Uses:

Relief of occasional constipation
Bowel clearance before certain medical procedures (sometimes)
Useful when stool softeners, lubricants, and stimulants are all needed

Dosage:

Dosage can vary, but common adult dose is:

5 to 15 mL at bedtime (or as prescribed by a doctor)
